9th Japan-Slovenia Seminar on Nonlinear Science
Conference site: Media Center in Sugimoto Campus , Osaka City University , Osaka, Japan
Period: 12 - 14 November 2007
Registration fee (including program booklet, banquet, coffee and snacks): 7,000 Yen (3,000 Yen for student) , to be paid at the reception desk.
The 9th Japan-Slovenia Seminar on Nonlinear Science will take place
at Osaka City University during 12 - 14 November 2007. The topics will
cover broad and interdisciplinary domains of nonlinear science, from
basic physics and mathematics, to chemistry, biology, economy and
physiology. This workshop is a continuation of the long-term program
for Japan-Slovenia Seminar on Nonlinear Science started in 1999.
The previous ones were as follows:
So far our workshops were very successful and contributed in a quite essential manner to the scientific exchange between Japan and Slovenia. Our motivation is to meet and present the most recent scientific contributions by the active researchers in both countries, to discuss the results and initiate scientific cooperation. In this workshop we shall have 10 invited speakers from Slovenia and about 20 speakers from Japan. The poster session and banquet will be held on November 13 (Tue). The number of total participants (from Slovenia and Japan) will be 40~50.
The sponsors of our meeting are: Ministry of Higher Education Science and Technology of the Republic of Slovenia, and Japan Society for the Promotion of Science. The support of these agencies is acknowledged. Our activity contributes in an essential way not only to the scientific exchange between the two countries, but also to the general cultural exchange and friendship between the Japanese and Slovenian people. The 9th Japan-Slovenia Seminar on Nonlinear Science is also dedicated to memories of Prof. Hirokazu Fujisaka who was an outstanding scholar in the field of nonlinear science and suddenly passed away this summer. Everybody is welcome to participate in the workshop.
